Commercial Electrician (Journeyman/Master)
Location: Evansville, IN (Vanderburgh County) Type: Full-Time / Permanent Experience: 5+ Years
The Role
Oxbow Electric is looking for a seasoned Commercial Electrician to lead and execute electrical installations for our diverse portfolio of commercial and residential projects. From retail build-outs, office complexes, and residential construction, we need a professional who understands the scale, speed, and safety requirements of residential and commercial construction.
If you are a high-level installer who can read a set of prints and run a crew without constant supervision, we have a spot for you on our team.
Key Responsibilities
System Installation: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems
Conduit Mastery: Bending and installation of EMT
Blueprint Reading: Interpret one-line diagrams and architectural plans to ensure precise installation
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in residential and commercial settings
Compliance: Ensure all work strictly adheres to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and county specific amendments.
Job-Site Leadership: Coordinate with other trades (HVAC, Plumbing, General Contractors) to keep projects on schedule and under budget.
Mandatory Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of documented commercial electrical experience.
Licensure: Must hold an active Vanderburgh County Electrical License
Compliance: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen (pre-employment and random).
Safety: Deep understanding of OSHA 10/30 standards and NFPA 70E (Arc Flash) safety protocols.
Physicality: Ability to work from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding; able to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
Technical Proficiencies
Proficiencies in current NEC, wire charts, conduit fill charts, etc.
Familiarity with fire alarm systems and low-voltage controls.
Experience with commercial LED retrofitting and energy management systems.
