Entry Level

Job Title: Materials Coordinator

Location: Evansville, Indiana

Type: Full-Time

Reports to: Materials Manager / Operations Manager

The Role

Are you the kind of person who knows exactly where every wire nut and conduit body is at any given moment? Oxbow Electric is looking for a Materials Coordinator to keep our electrical projects running at full speed.

You will be the vital link between our vendors and our field electricians. Your mission is to ensure that every service van is stocked, every project "kit" is staged, and every delivery is accurate. If you’re a logistics-minded individual who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Staging & Kitting: Review project blueprints and material lists to "kit" components (lighting packages, switchgear, etc.) for specific job phases, ensuring the field crew has everything they need in one trip.

  • Receiving & Inspection: Lead the check-in process for all incoming freight. Verify packing slips against purchase orders and immediately report discrepancies or damages.

  • Inventory Control: Conduct regular cycle counts and maintain a clean, organized warehouse. Tag and track "will-call" items and long-lead-time equipment.

  • Field Support: Act as the point of contact for Field Foremen regarding material shortages or tool requests. Coordinate emergency "hot-shot" deliveries to job sites when necessary.

  • Tool Tracking: Manage the company’s tool inventory, ensuring specialized equipment (benders, tuggers, testers) is tracked, maintained, and checked out correctly.

  • Documentation: Update our inventory management system daily to reflect real-time stock levels and material allocations.

What You Bring

  • Industry Knowledge: 2+ years of experience in a warehouse or logistics role, preferably with an electrical contractor or distributor. You should know the difference between an EMT coupling and a Rigid one.

  • Organizational Skills: A near-obsessive attention to detail. You believe there is a place for everything and everything should be in its place.

  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate a forklift (certification preferred, but we can train the right candidate).

  • Tech Literacy: Comfortable using tablets/smartphones for inventory tracking and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Clean Driving Record: A valid driver's license is required for occasional site deliveries or vendor pickups.

The Perks

  • Competitive hourly wage: $15 - $17.50 per hour.

  • Consistent Monday–Friday schedule with occasional overtime.

  • A supportive "team-first" culture where your hard work is noticed.
